ABOUT TERESA
Kia ora, my name is Teresa Te Tamaki, and after starting as an employee with Lifestyle Physiotherapy in 2007, I took over the business in 2015. I am passionate about helping people, providing an excellent level of service to patients, and providing opportunities for physios to grow and develop. We have a great team environment at Lifestyle Physiotherapy and I love the variety of work opportunities and flexibility we can offer.
I was always involved in sports at school and wanted to continue that involvement in some way, and with a drive to help people, physiotherapy was the right fit. I studied at AUT and worked in Auckland after graduating, before moving to Hamilton. I continued my study in Māori Health, and completed a Clinical Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2012 and since then a Post Graduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture.
I began playing rugby at university, and it has continued to be a huge part of my life. I have represented New Zealand in both 7s and 15s and finished playing in 2016 to focus on my career in sports physiotherapy. I have had the opportunity to work with Waikato NPC, the Black Ferns, and the Māori All Blacks, and am currently the Head of Performance Therapies and Lead Physiotherapist with the Chiefs Rugby Club, and will be joining the All Blacks as an Assistant Physiotherapist at the end of the year.
Outside of work and rugby, I attempt to stay fit and active to be able to keep up with my two energetic kids!
